Welcome!
The North Grenville Photography Club was established in April 2009 for photography enthusiasts in and around North Grenville, Ontario, Canada. We have members from Ottawa (North Gower), Kemptville, Oxford Mills, and so on.
Official meetings occur once a month, where members are invited to bring their photos for critique. Various workshops, tutorials, contests, and outings are organized throughout the year. All experience levels from beginner to professional are welcome.
We are currently listed by Outdoor Photography Canada magazine.

October and November Meeting Topics
Just a note that we will be discussing nature photography during the November meeting. Plans for any fall photography excursions will be posted on the events page if and when they are available. The topic for the October meeting is currently being discussed. The information on the events page will be kept up to date as much as possible, so refer back often.
August Meeting and Summer Photo Contest
Just a reminder that the next club meeting is Wednesday August 5 at 6:45pm. Please keep an eye on the Events page to stay up to date on meeting times and other events.
Also, the summer photo contest will be officially announced at tomorrow's meeting. It would be best to wait until the official announcement before trying to submit your photos so that our new system (outlined in the recipes section) is up and ready to go.
New "Recipes" Section
At our last Program Committee meeting, we came up with the idea of a new section of our website called "Recipes". The idea was to have a collection of cheat sheets - quick and easy how-to references that contained only the essential info and a couple of examples. New recipes would be presented in more detail at a club meeting.
You'll find a link to this new section on the menu to the left. The first recipe is already posted, and explains how we want photos for our contests submitted - be sure you read it! A recipe for the August meeting's topic, silhouettes, will be posted next, so check back often.
Contest Results Posted
Just in case anyone didn't notice, the results from the club's very first contest, Spring is Here, have been posted. There is currently no way to comment on them, but we are looking into the best option and will post here when it's ready. Also, remember that our July meeting is not on the first Wednesday of the month, since that is Canada Day. Keep up to date on the upcoming events on the Events page.
Call for Bloggers
As you probably noticed by now, the club has a blog. This is a place for all club members to write about their experiences as photographers. For example, you might have learned a really cool trick on your camera and want to share it, or maybe you have a review for some photographic equipment you just tried. Or you just came back from the most amazing shooting location. Or maybe you really liked the prints you just got and want to give kudos to the printer. Anything at all.
To add to the blog, you just need a username and password that I can set up for you. I suggest a username that indicates who you are, since that way you get credit for your writing. For example, my username is GailCarmichael and that shows up under all my blog posts. To get a username, use the Contact Us form and ask for an account.
Once you do have a username and you are logged in, a menu item will appear on the site called "Create Content." You click that, and then a new link called "Blog Post" appears. When you click that, a new page shows up that lets you enter your article. You don't even have to know any HTML. Once it's saved, it will automatically show up on the blog page.
Pretty neat eh?
The blog will only be interesting if we have a variety of contributers. No matter your experience level, you have something to valuable say, so sign up today!
